Dr. Terry Sellke
Dr. Sellke founded The Bottom Line – Successful Strategies for Private Practice Orthodontics® in 1996. In 1974, Dr. Sellke began teaching his orthodontic residents business principles and how to avoid the mistakes he had made after graduation. Today, The Bottom Line (TBL) curriculum has 4 components: The Practicing Doctor Program, University Program, Comprehensive Series and Study Group. The Practicing Doctor/Staff programs vary in their message. Today’s program is designed to expose you to some of the basic business principles that Dr. Sellke teaches in his advanced seminar (Comprehensive Series).

Dr. Sellke opened his private practice in 1974. He and his partner, Don Reily, have been practicing and teaching Bioprogressive orthodontics since that time. In addition to running a highly efficient, atient-centered practice, they continue to do clinical research in conjunction with the University of Illinois at Chicago. One current prospective study (240 patients) compares self-ligation and traditional appliances placed direct and indirect. Efficiencies, productivity, breakage, treatment time, and finished results (to ABO standards) are some of the areas being investigated.

Dr. Sellke completed his undergraduate, dental and orthodontic training at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He became a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics in 1983.

Always the innovator, Dr. Sellke combines his up-to-the-minute clinical, management and personal experiences to teach doctors and their teams how to fulfill their highest potential. In today’s program Dr. Sellke focuses on maximizing practice productivity, marketing, staff motivation/training/retention, tracking key office statistics, and creating a patient-centered practice.

Dr. Sellke retired as a master clinician, clinical professor, co-clinic director and master’s theses advisor at UIC in 2006 to allow more time for “TBL”, his practice, ongoing research and time with his family. Dr. Sellke continues to lecture on practice management and clinical subjects globally.
